We are excited to announce that Dr. Kristy Borawski has been appointed as the new Residency Program Director for UNC Urology, succeeding Dr. Eric Wallen, who has taken a new position as the Chair of the Department of Urology at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Borawski’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for our residency program, and we are eager to share more about her remarkable journey in medicine and education.
Celebrating Dr. Eric Wallen’s Legacy
Before we turn to the future, we must take a moment to celebrate the many significant contributions of Dr. Eric Wallen. Since joining UNC Urology in 2003, he has played a pivotal role in shaping our department, not only as the Residency Program Director but also as Vice Chair of Education, Director of the UNC Men’s Health Program, and as a leader in urologic oncology and robotic surgery. His commitment to education and patient care has shaped our residency program into the dynamic clinical residency training site that it is today. While we will miss him greatly, we are incredibly proud of his new role as Chair of the Department of Urology at the Medical University of South Carolina and wish him continued success.
