Michael was an MD/PhD student and was enrolled in the graduate program in Molecular Pathology. Michael identified a new non-catalytic role for DNA Polymerase eta (Polh) in TLS (see Durando et al., NAR 2013). Michael was funded by an F31 fellowship from NIEHS.
