This cohort-based, 10-month, mid-career leadership development program is designed to expand the ability of participants to lead within the field of academic medicine by broadening their understanding of and skills necessary for impact at the individual, departmental, School of Medicine, University, and national levels. This will be accomplished through the introduction of leadership content, group activities, skills practice, and interaction with leaders at each of the levels listed above. The 2026 – 2027 LTAM sessions will be hosted 8:30 – 11:30 am on Monday’s, every 2 weeks from August to April with additional sessions for program kick off and wrap up. Program Objectives include:

  1. Defining new, individual goals for current and future career phases.
  2. Building relationships with colleagues across the School of Medicine.
  3. Communicating more effectively; with greater curiosity, clarity, and compassion.
  4. Collaborating outside of participants’ individual scope/specialty/subspecialty.
  5. Leading with an awareness of the various perspectives within a system.

Application Information

We are now accepting applications from both associate and full professors for the LTAM 2026/27 cohort. The application deadline is April 1st, 2026. To apply for the program please visit the link below and prepare the following information:

In addition to completing the online application, please email Carrie Jackman-Hoyle a completed “Chairs Statement” (see PDF below). The Chairs Statement is a letter of support from your department chair of your participation in the LTAM program. This document can be submitted before or after your online application but to review a complete application we must receive the Chairs Statement via email by April 1, 2026.
