Purpose of the School of Medicine Human Resources Office
The UNC School of Medicine Human Resources Office is responsible for providing a high level of customer service to UNC School of Medicine departments, centers, and institutes in order to maximize the opportunities to recruit, develop and retain highly qualified personnel and to otherwise enhance the UNC School of Medicine employee experience. This is done in part through developing departmental training, consulting on human resource policies and employment law requirements, reviewing personnel actions, and advocating system/policy revision/improvements (in both processes and content as warranted). The UNC School of Medicine Human Resources Office is responsible for personnel functions for over 1450 faculty and non-faculty employees, 2700 permanent and temporary staff, and 1000 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
