SCHOOL OF MEDICINE HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE
As of Wednesday, March 17, 2020, the SOM HR Office has moved to virtual business operations.
We will continue to serve all SOM employees during this public health crisis while we work remotely for an extended period. The School of Medicine is committed to doing all we can to protect the safety of our staff, ensure continuity of our operations, and diminish the spread of COVID-19.
During this time, please call 919-962-6556 and you will be put in touch with the appropriate person to help you. If you know the email address for your SOM HR Consultant, you may email them directly.
The School of Medicine Human Resources Staff thanks you, and appreciates your understanding and patience during the challenging period.
The UNC School of Medicine Human Resources Office is responsible for providing a high level of customer service to UNC School of Medicine departments, centers, and institutes in order to maximize the opportunities to recruit, develop and retain highly qualified personnel and to otherwise enhance the UNC School of Medicine employee experience. This is done in part through developing departmental training, consulting on human resource policies and employment law requirements, reviewing personnel actions, and advocating system/policy revision/improvements (in both processes and content as warranted). The UNC School of Medicine Human Resources Office is responsible for personnel functions for over 5,466 faculty and non-faculty employees, 2,302 permanent and temporary staff, and 1,200 graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. In addition to providing school-wide personnel customer service, the School of Medicine HR Service Center provides HR Services to affiliated SOM Departments and Centers.
