Peterson Award for Best Article in Gerontology & Geriatrics Education (G&GE).The Gerontological Society of America (GSA), recently awarded the article, An interprofessional experience preparing a collaborative workforce to care for older adults with the 2024 David A. Peterson Award. Instituted by the Academy for Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE), the award is given for the Best Article in the volume of Gerontology & Geriatrics Education (G&GE), AGHE’s official journal. The award recognizes, “excellence in scholarship in academic gerontology.”

Several Center for Aging and Health faculty and staff contributed to the 2022 publication which discussed the Geriatrics IPE experience. CAH co-authors included Center Director Dr. Jan Busby-Whitehead; Research Professor Dr. Ellen Roberts; former CGWEP Director Chris Henage; and Denisé Dews, CGWEP Associate Director.

The article was selected for the award through a peer review process. It was officially announced at the AGHE Presidential Symposium and Recognition Event on Friday, November 15 at GSA’s Annual Scientific Meeting in Seattle, Washington.
