Our Inpatient Hospital Service
The Division of Geriatric Medicine provides a dedicated Inpatient Hospital Service for hospitalized older adults at UNC Hospitals Hillsborough Campus. We encourage you to visit and seek care at this beautiful, quiet, and fully patient-focused hospital. The hospital is led by Dr. Jeffrey Strickler (DHA, RN, Vice President, UNC Hospitals Hillsborough Campus), a consistent champion for age-friendly care.

In 2018 Hillsborough’s Emergency Department was awarded the prestigious Silver Standard of accreditation for Geriatric Emergency Department excellence. The hospital’s age-friendly care policies and processes as well as the special equipment and rooms seek improvements in emergency care for older adults.
Parking is free and easy at the hospital. On top of that, patients benefit from a dedicated floor for inpatient stays. Rooms are large with serene views and spacious bathrooms.
