“[CRC] really is for all anesthesia providers, no matter your practice setting or area of clinical interest. There’s something that everyone can take away from the conference and immediately incorporate into their practice.”
The words of Carolina Refresher Course (CRC): Anesthesiology, Pain & Critical Care Medicine Director and UNC Anesthesiology Vice Chair of Education Dr. Rob Isaak sum up how UNC Anesthesiology’s highly regarded annual CME conference benefits first-time and returning attendees. Over four days in June, the 36th Annual CRC in Kiawah Island, SC, marked its largest attendance to date, bringing together 125+ attendees from 29 states and 75+ healthcare organizations to hear experts share the latest in evidence-based, peri-operative medical/surgical approaches to anesthesia care.
Major CME learning components of CRC 2025 benefitting attendees included: Workshops, Expert Lectures, Q&A Panel Discussions, and “Meet the Professors” sessions. Click HERE to review the detailed 2025 Schedule of CME Sessions.

Dr. Isaak and Assistant Professor and CRC Course Co-Director Jacob Acton, MD, served as Panel Discussion co-moderators over this year’s four-day conference. Dr. Isaak concluded:
“CRC 2025 was once again an amazing conference filled with excellent presentations, engaging workshops, and opportunities for networking with colleagues. This was especially great year as we had a large contingent of UNC residency and faculty alumni in attendance giving the conference the feel of a UNC reunion!”
Mark June 17-20 on your calendars for the 2026 Carolina Refresher Course, to be held again at Kiawah Island Golf Resort!
A registration page will be posted on this website in early fall 2025.
