
UNC Anesthesiology is thrilled to congratulate long-time Residency Program Coordinator Elizabeth Aguero on being awarded the UNC Hospitals Melainie Bolick Program Coordinator Award!
Established in 2023, this UNC Hospitals training program administration award is named in honor of former Surgical Fellowship Coordinator Melainie Bolick, who passed away in August 2022. The award seeks to recognize the grace and positivity that Melainie brought to her work as a Program Coordinator by honoring colleagues who embody those same qualities in their own programs. Award criteria include:
- Demonstrated effective teamwork
- Superb communication skills
- In-depth understanding and application of ACGME Common Program Requirements
- Exceptional commitment to the educational mission of the training program and to optimizing the resident/fellow training experience
- Innovation in program development
- Demonstrated involvement in GME at the Institutional, State, or National level
