UNC Anesthesiology congratulates CA-2 Kian Lari, MD, on being named 1 of 10 founding members of the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)’s inaugural Resident Advisory Group (RAG)! The ABA established the RAG to amplify resident voices and foster meaningful engagement in shaping resident-focused communications, resources, and outreach strategies. Dr. Lari and other founding group members were selected following a nationwide nomination process. They represent a diverse range of programs, geographic regions and clinical experiences.
The ABA leadership team noted: “By establishing a formal advisory group composed of residents from diverse areas of practice and clinical experience, we are creating a structured channel to understand evolving communication needs during training, gather feedback on the resident experience through the certification process and co-develop formative assessment tools. The group’s contributions will help shape resident-focused communications and engagement strategies, ensuring that the ABA remains responsive to the challenges and opportunities faced by trainees today.”
