In October 2025, Monica was named the first Anesthesia Legacy of Care Award recipient after UNC Health Peri-Operative Services leadership created the honor to recognize exceptional anesthesia professionals whose compassion and excellence in healthcare delivery leaves a lasting, meaningful impression on the patients they care for across the system.
