Hometown: Goldsboro, NC

Undergraduate: UNC – Chapel Hill

Medical School: University of Oklahoma

What drew you to UNC?

UNC is an excellent institution, full of very friendly people that love teaching. Coming to UNC gave me the opportunity to come home and train at the major state hospital that serves the people of North Carolina. UNC hospital is also right in the middle Chapel Hill, which is an absolutely beautiful place to live, especially if you’re a Tar Heel fan.

What do you love most about the Triangle?

The Triangle is full of so many things to do and see. This region is full of running trails, fun restaurants, sports, theater, art, and music. If you want to travel, RDU is also right around the corner.

What are your career aspirations?

I’m undecided, but I’m interested in cardiothoracic anesthesia and critical care.

What is your go-to fun fact?

Before medical school, I flew in the Air Force as an Air Battle Manager onboard the E-3 AWACS.

If you weren’t an anesthesiologist, what would you be?

If I stayed in medicine, I’d go into Pulmonary Critical Care. If in non-medicine, probably something back in the Air Force or federal government.
