It’s Physician Anesthesiologists Week (Jan 26th to Feb 1st), let’s pause to celebrate our physician anesthesiologists at UNC and worldwide! Every year, Physician Anesthesiologists Week serves as a week-long occasion to recognize the critical role of anesthesiologists in providing physician-led, patient-centered anesthesia care. Given their intensive training and experience, physician anesthesiologists are considered the “guardians of patient safety” and uniquely qualified to lead delivery of highest-quality, peri-operative patient care and pain management. Be sure to thank a physician anesthesiologist during Physician Anesthesiologists Week for his/her dedication and critical contributions to safe, quality anesthesia care!
UNC Anesthesiology Chair Ted Sakai, MD, MHA, PhD, FASA stated: “As we celebrate Physician Anesthesiologists Week, I am honored to recognize all of our anesthesiologists. Each of you embodies the heart and soul of our department and possesses unwavering dedication to the exemplary care that defines our profession. This week, we celebrate and recognize your unparalleled commitment to patient safety and excellence in daily perioperative care.
