Academies Collaborative Webinar – “Sustaining Academies during Financially Trying Times”

September 21, 2020 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

As we gear up for 2020-2021, we’re shifting what was our annual meeting (associated with the AAMC Learn Serve Lead conference) to a conference series over the course of the year!  The goal is to offer 3-4 sessions from September 2020 – June 2021 including the wildly popular facilitated table topics which was offered at the face-to-face conference.  Keep an eye out for a call for table topics soon.  In the meantime, we’d like to invite you to the first session titled “Sustaining Academies during Financially Trying Times”.  The session is scheduled for September 21, 2020 from noon – 1 pm.  We have an esteemed panel to talk about different facets of the topic.

Each panelist will discuss creative solutions and strategies aligned to the themes listed below and 30-40 minutes will be allotted to sharing of best practices from our broader AC community as well as Q&A.

  • Diana McNeill – making the business case for academies
  • Shari Whicker and Mariah Rudd – prioritizing programs/objectives to reduce overhead
  • Elza Mylona – creating an endowed academy, strategies for cultivating donors
  • Katie Huggett – model of endowed directorship
