May 2012 – The Fellner Fellowship committee has announced that Caitlin Collins will receive this year’s Dr. Susan Fellner Physiology Graduate Student Research Fellowship (Fellner Fellowship). Caitlin is entering her fifth year of graduate study in the lab of Ellie Tzima where she is studying the role of hemodynamic forces in vessel mechanotransduction and inflammation.

The Fellner Fellowship is a one-year, merit-based award available to graduate students in the Cell and Molecular Physiology curriculum who have passed the thesis proposal at the time of application. In addition to paying stipend, tuition, fees and health insurance, the fellowship provides extra stipend funding of $5000 above the current rate.

Past Fellner fellows include Sarah Bortvedt (Lund lab), Rylan Larsen (Philpot lab) and Ivana Semova (Rawls lab).
