The 14th annual Research Day held by the Department of Cell & Molecular Physiology

This annual event serves to introduce our research to new students and faculty, and to promote productive scientific interactions and collaborations throughout the Health Science programs within and beyond UNC-Chapel Hill.  Registration is free of charge.

12:00-12:30PM: “Fetal Signals Contributing to Maternal Adaptation to Pregnancy”

Kathleen Caron, PhD

– Associate Professor of Cell & Molecular Physiology
– Joint appointment with the department of Genetics
– Member of the UNC McAllister Heart Institute

Dr. Caron’s research focuses on adrenomedullin signaling and its roles in vascular biology, pregnancy, and disease.

– Member of the Neuroscience Center

 Dr. Philpot’s research centers on synaptic plasticity and the basis of neurodevelopmental disorders such as mental retardation and autism.
