The Task and Duties Assessment Process (TADA) uses an objective, standardized procedure to streamline the position creation and reclassification process.

The TADA Process

The TADA process has multiple steps to ensure that intake forms are reviewed in a timely and thorough manner. If you have an inquiry about the process please email som-cdi@med.unc.edu. If you have already submitted an intake form, please include your record ID number in the email.

Hiring Manager Submits TADA Intake Form
The TADA intake form includes questions about the proposed positions’ tasks, duties, and competencies. The hiring manager will also be asked to upload an organizational chart and list IRB numbers for studies the position will support (as applicable). To submit an intake form, please click the following link: https://reports.tracs.unc.edu/surveys/?s=LT9ETLFYTKPHDFL7
TADA Committee Reviews TADA Intake Form
The TADA committee is composed of members from the HR and clinical research community. The committee meets once weekly at a minimum to ensure submissions are reviewed promptly.
TADA Committee Makes Determination
After reviewing the intake form, the committee will determine if the proposed position or reclassification fits within one of the standardized positions, and if so, which one.
Hiring Manager Receives Determination Letter
The TADA outcome letter will inform the hiring manager if their new position or reclassification fits within one of the standardized positions, and if so, which one. If there is disagreement or concern about the determination, the hiring manager should communicate directly with the committee by emailing som-cdi@med.unc.edu to discuss.
Hiring Manager Creates Position Description
If the position is determined to be one of the standardized positions, the study team is instructed to download the appropriate position template and add the necessary information (standardized position descriptions can be found at this link). Only the highlighted text on the position description may be modified. If the position is determined not to be one of the standardized positions, the study team may use a blank position description form to write their position.
Hiring Manager Submits Position Description and Outcome Letter to SOM HR
Once the hiring manager has completed creating the position description, they will submit the description and TADA committee outcome letter to the SOM HR representative.

The TADA committee meets once weekly to minimize delays in the position creation and reclassification process. To be added to an upcoming committee agenda, TADA intake forms must be submitted to the committee by the deadline listed below at 12:00pm. Any submissions received after 12:00pm on that date will be added to the next meeting agenda.
