Dr. Adriana Beltran (Assistant Professor, Department of Genetics) has been selected to participate in the 2021-2022 Academic Career Leadership Academy in Medicine (ACCLAIM).

Dr. Will Valdar (Professor, Department of Genetics) is the recipient of a subcontract from a new R01 grant awarded to Dr. David Threadgill at Texas A&M University.

Patrick F. Sullivan, MD, FRANZCP (Distinguished Professor of UNC Genetics and Psychiatry and Professor, Karolinska Institutet) co-edited the April 21 (volume 68) special issue of Current Opinion in Genetics & Development titled “Molecular and Genetics Basis of Disease”.

Yun Li, PhD, Professor in the Department of Genetics, is the contact PI on a new five-year, $5-million collaborative U01 from the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) for her project titled “Polygenic risk scores and health disparities: the role of blood cells immune response and evolutionary adaption”.

Dr. Paola Giusti Rodriguez (Assistant Professor, Department of Genetics) has been appointed as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at University of Florida College of Medicine, effective August 2021.

Dr. Yun Li (Professor, Department of Genetics) was awarded Boost funding from the UNC SOM Dean’s Office for her project “Genetics of mammalian chromatin interactome”.

Dr. Lisa Tarantino (Associate Professor, Department of Genetics) was awarded Bridge funding from the UNC SOM Dean’s Office for her project in the P50 grant “Center for Systems Neurogenetics of Addiction”.
