Clarivate’s 2024 international list of trailblazers among peers includes scholars in the Department of Genetics and from across the University.

Department of Genetics faculty, postdocs, students and collaborators published 19 papers during November 10th - 23rd, 2024.

Dr. Melissa Haendel (Distinguished Professor, Genetics and School of Data Science and Society) has received a new subcontract through University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) for an ARPA-H funded grant titled “CHARM: An End-to-End Toolchain for Collecting, Harmonizing, Analyzing, Reasoning about and Manipulating Biomedical Data”.

Dr. Matthew Brush (Assistant Professor) received a Chan Zuckerberg/Wellcome Award for his project titled “LinkML: an open data modeling framework”. 

Dr. Chuck Perou (Distinguished Professor) has renewed the UNC Breast Cancer SPORE for years 30-34. 

New contracts, subcontracts, and supplements awarded to Genetics Faculty Members Dr. Ichiro Misumi, Dr. Marty Ferris, and Dr. Melissa Haendel.

Margarita Dzama, PhD, Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Jesse Raab, has been awarded a Fellowship grant from the American Cancer Society, for her project titled “Identification of Epigenetic Therapies for Liver Cancer”.
