Dr. Jason Stein (Associate Professor, Genetics and Neuroscience) was awarded a new Other Transaction (OT2) from the NIH Office of the Director for his project titled “Modeling autism-associated gene-by-environment interactions in human brain organoids”.
The project proposes to identify genetic variants that modulate cellular and molecular responses to multiple environmental toxicant exposures and integrate with known genetic risk factors for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to understand how genetics and environmental risk factors together create risk for ASD.
