Dr. Ageliki Tsagaratou has been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure, effective September 26, 2025.
Dr. Tsagaratou earned her BSc in Biology (2004) from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece and her PhD in Immunology (2010) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Dr. Tsagaratou completed Postdoctoral training (2010-2014) and served as Instructor (2014-2018) at the La Jolla Institute, La Jolla, California. Dr. Tsagaratou was appointed as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics at UNC-Chapel Hill, effective September 1, 2018 and was appointed as a Research Assistant Professor (secondary) in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology (May 2020). Dr. Tsagaratou studies the epigenetic and transcriptional regulation of gene expression in T cells during development and pathological conditions.
