
Dr. Sam Wolff was promoted to Associate Professor, effective February 1, 2026.
Dr. Wolff received a BS degree in Neuroscience in 1997 from Tulane University and a PhD in Neurobiology from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2006. He served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Inspire Pharmaceuticals (2006-2007). Dr. Wolff was an R&D Scientist at Regado Biosciences in 2007 to 2013 and then joined UNC-Chapel Hill as a Research Specialist in 2014. Since August 2019, he has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics. Dr. Wolff’s research focuses on understanding cell fate decisions, drug resistance, and the spatial organization of proteins within cells.
