Conversations in IPE: Assessment & Evaluation

Kelly S. Lockeman, PhD

Kelly Lockeman has a PhD in educational research and evaluation. She is an assistant professor at Virginia Commonwealth University in the School of Medicine and director of evaluation and assessment for the VCU Center for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Care. She is responsible for the Center’s evaluation efforts and is engaged in a number of collaborative research projects aimed at understanding process and measuring outcomes of interprofessional education. Her work has been published in academic journals and presented at a variety of professional meetings.

Barret Michalec, PhD

Dr. Michalec is the Associate Dean of Interprofessional Education and Interdisciplinary Initiatives, as well as an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Delaware. Although his recent efforts focus on program development and evaluation and assessment, his research explores socialization and professionalization mechanisms and processes nested within health professions education.
