Dr. Johnson is an assistant professor within the Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy. The Hortense K. McClinton Outstanding Faculty Award honors a faculty or staff member, past or present, who has made outstanding contributions to the Carolina community. The award is given by UNC’s Black Alumni Reunion.

The Division of Physician Assistant Studies has been awarded two grants that will support the implementation of multiple DEI-related projects over the next two years, including an NCCPA STEP Up Grant to support URM Students and School of Medicine DEI Mini Grant for medical Spanish curriculum development.

Doctor of Audiology (AuD) students Sydney Stoter and Jenna Van Bosch were awarded Sertoma’s Communicative Disorders Scholarships. The awards are funded by the Sertoma Annual Fund and are given to high-performing graduate students pursing advanced degrees in audiology or speech-language pathology from institutions in the United States.

Valerie Tan, Associate Chair for Administration, won an Overton Leadership Award, and Patty Kinneer, Managing Director of Research Support & Scholarship, won a Pinnacle Award for their work in the Department of Health Sciences.
