While not specific to rheumatoid arthritis, these apps are a great way to organize your health information and track your physical activity. These apps allow you to connect devices that automatically capture values such as heart rate, sleep time, daily steps, and many more.

  • Apple Health: Can collect data from your apple devices (iPhone, apple watch) or third-party devices.
  • Google Fit: Gives you heart points over a weekly duration for moderate and intense physical activity, which is a great motivator! Can connect with almost all wearable devices.
  • Samsung Health: Allows you to track menstrual cycles, sleep, calories, and much more.
  • Fitbit: Connects with your wearable device and lets you track all aspects of health and fitness. Provides sleep quality data and daily readiness scores, and also has a community aspect to connect with other users.
  • Garmin Connect: Can be customized to help you achieve your goals, allows you to track your activity over time, and lets you build your own workouts or download your own routes to stay active.
  • Strava: Predominantly for running and cycling, but can be used to track any activity. Also has a social component where you can add friends and interact with their workouts. Can be connected to most third-party devices.
  • Pacer: A free app to track aerobic activities. It can give you new walking routes nearby and lets you join community activities and connect with other friends to compete and get active.
  • Sworkit: Mentioned frequently on websites and patient testimonials. Has a great low-impact workout plan, and a premium version that lets you tailor app recommendations to your needs and goals.

Managing symptoms effectively is key to improving quality of life and achieving better health outcomes. Symptom tracking applications are designed to help you monitor your symptoms and identify patterns that provide valuable insights over time.

  • Bezzy RA: Free phone app for people living with rheumatoid arthritis to join a judgement-free community where people share their experiences and advice.​ Bezzy RA also offers live chats and 1:1 messaging.
  • Bearable – Symptom Tracker: While not specific to rheumatoid arthritis, Bearable allows you to track symptoms and daily habits so you have a better picture of how your daily activities may affect your symptoms.
  • RA Monitor: Allows you to track and monitor your daily symptoms, connect with others, and get tips and inspiration for self-management strategies.
  • PatientSpot (formerly ArthritisPower): Free app that lets you track your symptoms and treatments, as well as viewing your data across time. PatientSpot was created as a research network, and is a great way to find research opportunities and educational information.
  • Manage My Pain: A comprehensive pain tracker where you can record pain records and daily reflections in less than 45 seconds. It has features to track both symptoms and medications, and can generate a report for you to share with your doctor.
  • PainScale: Not specific to RA, but a solid option for symptom tracking that can easily be connected with Apple HealthKit. It also includes educational resources and meditation/exercises to aid with chronic pain.
