Research Interests
Suzanne’s research interests include increasing access to Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) for all non-speaking and multi-modal communicators who may benefit from AAC starting in early childhood. Suzanne hopes to research and address current barriers to AAC in the field of speech-language pathology and in other professions who work alongside SLPs, such as teachers, so that AAC is more accessible as a standard of clinical practice. Suzanne is also interested in learning from the perspective of autistic AAC users and understanding how to best support autistic individuals through ensuring implementation of Neurodiversity-Affirming practices.
