Student Research Day
Student Research Day is an annual event organized by and for medical students at the UNC School of Medicine, giving students the chance to showcase their original research in basic science, public health, and clinical sciences. Beyond a single day of presentations, it plays a key role in building a culture of research among medical students—encouraging collaboration with faculty, sparking new ideas, and connecting students who share a passion for scholarly inquiry.
Each year, students who participate are inducted into the John B. Graham Medical Student Research Society, established in 1987 to recognize and promote research efforts across the medical student body. Together, Student Research Day and the Society celebrate the curiosity, rigor, and dedication that research brings to medical education.
Student Research Day will take place on Monday, November 2, 2026
