In the two centuries since Mozart’s death, many theories have been offered to explain his final illness. None has settled the controversy, in no small part because of limitations of his medical record. In this presentation, Dr. Mackowiak will review Mozart’s medical history with particular attention to what we know of the character of his final illness, and offer what he believes is the disorder that most likely took him from us just prior to his 36th birthday.
