Matthew Cavender, MD, MPH, assistant professor of medicine in the division of cardiology, has been selected for the Leadership Academy of the American College of Cardiology, a two year program launched in 2014 to address various leadership specific competencies that can ensure participants are highly qualified to lead in their respective organizations.
Cavender joined UNC’s interventional cardiology team in 2016, and is co-director of cardiology clinical trials. He has been recognized by Cardiology Today as a Next Gen Innovators, in “a bright group of early career cardiologists identified as innovators in the field.”
