The Department is honored to welcome two vibrant leaders to the administrative team, Taylor Herndon and Brandon Grant.  


Brandon Grant, MPH, joins the Division of Hematology as the new Associate Chief of Administration. Previously serving as the Strategic Support Manager in the Office of the CEO at Penn Medicine, he comes to us with a strong background in healthcare administration and strategic support. Brandon has a keen understanding of clinical practices and healthcare administration and excels in consulting and liaising between hospital, divisional, university, and departmental leaders. He has successfully led enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, including the implementation of High Reliability Organization (HRO) training, the Penn Medicine Votes campaign, and emergency blood drives. Brandon holds an MPH in Public Health Administration from Indiana University and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan. His research and publications in renowned journals such as the Journal of American College Health and American Heart Association Journals reflect his commitment to advancing knowledge in the healthcare field. Outside of work, Brandon enjoys playing the saxophone, cooking, and running. He recently completed the 10 Mile Broad Street Run in Philadelphia.

Taylor Herndon, MHA, is taking on the role of Associate Chief of Administration in the Divisions of Hospital Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. As a UNC Health employee of 12 years, Taylor has a wealth of knowledge about our clinic operations and quality improvement efforts. She has carried out previous administrative duties within surgical services, the cardiac cath lab, and the Heart & Vascular Canter. Most recently, Taylor served as Associate Director of the UNC Outpatient Center at Eastowne. She thoroughly enjoys collaborating with our providers, advanced practice providers and clinical teams to provide the highest quality of care to our patients. Taylor received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Methodist University and her Masters in Healthcare Administration from Pfeiffer University. Outside of work, she is very busy keeping up with her two sons, two dogs and husband. She and her family love spending time outside, especially at the beautiful beaches of North Carolina.
