Josh Niznik, PharmD, PhD, recently presented his research during a Lightning Forum presentation at the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (IPSE) Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. His research presentation was entitled “Outcomes Associated with Deprescribing Versus Continuing Bisphosphonates for Older Nursing Home Residents with Dementia”. This presentation was part of a 90-minute session on geriatrics, deprescribing, and medication adherence.

Dr. Niznik is a geriatric health services researcher in the Division of Geriatric Medicine with clinical training in the pharmaceutical sciences. Much of his recent work focuses on deprescribing or discontinuing chronic medications which may no longer have value in nursing home residents suffering from dementia.
