As dentist offices reopen, Emily Sickbert-Bennett, PhD, MS, associate professor of medicine in the division of infectious diseases and director of UNC Medical Center Infection Prevention, suggests staggered appointments and reconfigured spaces in order to ensure patient safety.  She also says if you’re not feeling well, you should cancel your appointment.

“You don’t want to put yourself in a situation where you’re around other people when you’re not feeling well,” Sickbert-Bennett said in a Washington Post article. “That, I think, cannot be stated enough.”
