
Emily Sickbert-Bennett, PhD, MS, associate professor of infectious diseases and director of infection prevention at UNC Medical Center, shares three tips that will help people avoid contracting COVID-19 from surfaces. In a new UNC Health article, Sickbert-Bennett says the hands are the mechanism that can bring any germs from surfaces to the face (and into the body). Therefore, hand washing is vital. She also recommends using household disinfectant often, and she encourages everyone to be thoughtful about what they’re bringing into the house and what it has touched.
