Division of Rheumatology, Allergy & Immunology
- Lara Longobardi, PhD, received an R01 renewal from NIH to study the “Role of CCR2 in osteoarthritis”.
- Leigh Callahan, MD, has been named Principal Investigator for the UNC site of a $17M dollar osteoarthritis prevention study (TOPS) trial funded through the CDC.
Division of Hematology
- Matthew Painschab, MD, received a $2.7M dollar NIH DPI Director’s Pioneer Award (NDPA) for his research in Malawi.
- Daniel Richardson, MD, MSc, received a $285K grant from the NIH National Cancer Institute for his project, “Developing a Values Elicitation Tool to Improve Treatment Decision-Making in Acute Myeloid Leukemia”.
Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology
- Andrew Moon, MD, MPH, was selected for a $50K UNC Lingeberger Development Award for his project, “Risk Evaluation And cancer Detection in Younger adult liver disease patients (READY)”.
Division of Oncology
- Brian Miller, MD, PhD, was selected for a $255K grant from the Melanoma Research Alliance for his project, “Targeting suppressive macrophages to overcome resistance to immunotherapy”.
