Clinicians and staff from Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTC) across the state, the Hemophilia Alliance, and UNC HTC Pharmacy recently joined together at the University of North Carolina for the 6th NC HTCPharmacy summit. The meeting provided networking and educational opportunities as well as a platform to discuss ways patient care can be improved for the bleeding disorder community.

The UNC HTC has been serving patients with bleeding disorders since 2008. The pharmacy is not only the in-house pharmacy for the UNC HTC, but also serves as the contract pharmacy for Wake Forest Baptist University, East Carolina University, and the Levine Cancer Institute. Additionally, the UNC HTC Pharmacy provides pharmacy services to patients across the state of North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia.

Lead by Jason Wittes, PharmD, Director of Pharmacy Programs, staff provide 24/7 on call pharmacy support, home delivery of factor, medications and supplies, nursing support/home health visits, and more.
