David Weber, MD, MPH, professor of medicine in the division of infectious diseases, discussed COVID-19 testing guidance and recommendation with WRAL.
In the interview, Weber explained that many people who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 should be tested for the virus even if they don’t have symptoms, because asymptomatic people or pre-symptomatic people may be infectious, and this is an important part of contact tracing.
