I am a medical oncologist with specialization in breast cancer. I am committed to ensuring that all patients receive high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care. I strive to be a good listener and help patients make decisions that are right for them. A cancer diagnosis impacts the whole family, and I am committed to supporting the patient and their loved ones through their cancer journey. I believe in partnering with the patient’s other medical providers to ensure all medical needs are being met. When available, I try to connect patients with clinical trials to give them access to cutting-edge therapies while helping advance cancer research to benefit all patients.

In addition to caring for cancer patients, I conduct cancer research focused on evaluating cancer outcomes and improving cancer care delivery. I study how to improve our health systems to improve patient outcomes, and I am especially interested in developing interventions that help patients avoid high-cost, low-value care. I have expertise in use of “big data” such as administrative claims linked to cancer registry data (e.g. SEER-Medicare) and electronic health record-derived data to identify gaps in cancer care quality. I am interested in leveraging big data to identify patients at high risk for adverse outcomes (such as hospitalization or death) and to implement targeted interventions to better support those high-risk patients.
