The UNC Division of Oncology is passionate about research for a simple reason – we perceive that despite advances, there remains an unacceptable burden of suffering from cancer in North Carolina and in the broader world. We seek to change this. Through clinical trials, we seek to bring the newest advances to our patients, even before they are FDA approved. Through genomics and scientific work, we generate a new understanding of cancer, with the goal of ultimately eradicating it.

Our Cancer Outcomes Program is comprised of an interdisciplinary group of clinicians, researchers, and advocates who are dedicated to furthering our understanding of cancer and improving the quality of cancer care. The Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center houses the Division of Oncology’s cancer research efforts. You can learn more about our research by going to their website.
