MHI SUMMER Program's Basic Cardiovascular Sciences Sessions Basic Cardiovascular SciencesThe program director was Dr. Jonathan Schisler, and the program coordinator was Rebekah Sanchez-Hodge, lab manager/research associate in the Schisler Lab, who along with cohort finalist students Akash Bhowmik, Connor Johnson, Dimitrios Bikas, Julian Rawlins, Rama Alsakhita, Samyu Ganesh Babu, Saniya Shine, and Tristan Moore, did a great job presenting posters. This program’s goal is to allow underrepresented students to receive an opportunity to study cardiovascular research for 10 weeks and then present their findings at the Basic Cardiovascular Sciences Conference. Here they were able to network with other American Heart Association (AHA) awardees, and also several professionals in AHA.
