Chapel Hill, N.C. — The University of North Carolina’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program has once again been recognized among the nation’s best, earning the #4 spot in Doximity’s 2025 national residency rankings. This marks the fifth consecutive year that the program has placed in the top four, a testament to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology’s consistent excellence in training, education, and clinical care.
Over the past five years, UNC’s OB/GYN program has also achieved a remarkable 100% residency match rate. Between 2020 and 2024, 65 medical students applied to residency, and every single one successfully matched. Impressively, 94% of those students matched specifically into OB/GYN programs — underscoring both the program’s strength and its success in preparing future specialists.
This continued national recognition reflects the hard work and commitment of UNC’s residents, faculty, and leadership in advancing women’s health and medical education.
