I am a a practicing infectious diseases clinician and the Medical Director for the HIV Cure Center at UNC. My research background includes clinical trials and translational research including Phase I/II clinical trials involving novel HIV vaccines and immunotherapeutic strategies to advance HIV cure strategies. Dr. Gay has also worked on HIV-related clinical trials conducted in national networks including the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG), the HIV Prevention Trials Network, and the HIV Vaccine Trials Network. Dr. Gay was a site Principle investigator for the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine trial as well as a co-chair and site Principle investigator for a Phase 3 trial of the Novavax covid-19 vaccine.
