We study epigenetic complexes involved in gene silencing using structural biology and biophysical techniques. The over-arching goal is to develop inhibitors of these complexes as molecular probes and novel therapeutics for blood disorders and cancers. We currently focus on the NuRD complex and its role in fetal hemoglobin regulation.
