I am a clinician scientist with a long-standing interest in identifying therapeutic treatments for chronic pelvic pain syndromes in women. I am board certified in OBGYN with sub-specialty training in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and pain management. Women with pelvic and vulvar pain constitute over half of my clinical practice and controlling pain symptoms and restoring patients’ quality of life is my primary focus. Common themes in my research include exploring peripheral and central pain mechanisms and phenotyping patients with pain syndromes, with the objective of identifying novel treatment strategies for different subgroups. My long-term goal is to incorporate these effective treatments for chronic pelvic and sexual pain into clinical practice
