MENTORS: Medical Students

As a family physician and geriatrician, I am grateful to work alongside and collaborate with an interprofessional team each day. As a residency program director, I role model collaborative care to our future work force. I also aid in the creation and implementation of new curriculum that investigates disparities in healthcare, social determinants of health, and how our most vulnerable patients can be better cared for. I oversee a three-year residency experience that fosters culturally competent care for our trainees. As the Principle Investigator for several HRSA PCTE grants previously, I have had the opportunity to help in the development of curriculum around rural health care, mental and behavioral health care, and language and disability care.
