I am a licensed speech-language pathologist at the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities (CIDD) and clinical instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at the UNC-CH. Since 2005, I have been involved in research focusing on individuals with a range of developmental disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorders, fragile X syndrome, Angelman syndrome, and Turner syndrome. In addition, I provide direct clinical services to individuals with autism spectrum disorders, Angelman syndrome, Dup15q syndrome, Prader-Willi syndrome, hearing impairment, behavioral and emotional disabilities, and other developmental disabilities. I also coordinate the Angelman and Dup15q syndrome clinics at the CIDD. I have interest and experience with augmentative and alternative forms of communication (AAC) and cortical visual impairment (CVI). In addition, I teach and advocate for accessible and equitable sexual health education for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
