I am trained as a pediatric pulmonologist and have interests in bacteriology of cystic fibrosis (CF) lung disease. This includes microbiome and anaerobic bacteria found in lungs of people with CF. Specifically also in MRSA where I am conducting clinical trials of treatment of incident infection but also translational studies to evaluate adaptation of MRSA (or SA) to the chronic infection in CF lungs. Such studies also involve treatment directions i.e. optimization of currently available antibiotics. I already work with PhD collaborators on such studies but always interested in expanding the scope. We have a good collection of clinical MRSA isolates stored.
Lastly, also doing epidemiologic studies related to incidence of MRSA and P aeruginosa or treatment optimizations using the CF patient registry data.
