The Emanuele lab studies the role of ubiquitin signaling and protein degradation in cell cycle , normal and cancer proliferation, and genome stability. We are focused on signaling that flows from E3 ubiquitin ligases and deubiquitinases. Our goal is to determine enzymes and substrates involved in cell physiology and disease, and to determine if how the ubiquitin system can be attacked for therapeutic benefit. We apply cell and molecular biology, combined with systems approaches and mass spectrometry based proteomics.
