Dr. MacIver is a physician scientist with a research interest in immunometabolism and a strong focus on basic science. Her laboratory is broadly interested in how changes in nutritional status (undernutrition or obesity) and nutritionally regulated hormones and cytokines, such as leptin, insulin-like growth factor-1 and interleukin-6, influence T cell immunity and immunometabolism in the context of infection, autoimmunity, and cancer.
