Our research group is interested in developing and applying functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) technologies to study brain functional circuits and networks using animal models. We focus on understanding how fMRI signal is formed and on developing methods to improve its measurement under awake, behaving conditions. Members of our research lab have strong working knowledge of using cutting-edge brain recording and manipulation tools within the high magnetic field environment, including electrophysiology, fiber photometry, optical imaging, fast-scan cyclic voltammetry, optogenetics, chemogenetics, and high-resolution electrical microstimulation. We also run a core facility that provides various types of animal MRI data acquisition and analysis services to users interested in these technologies.
