Timeline for Residency Applications for Academic Year 2018–2019

March 2019 Match Week

Interviews are conducted Wednesdays beginning October 17, 2018, with up to eight applicants scheduled per day. The day begins with a resident morning conference, followed by an information session with our program directors and program coordinator, one-on-one faculty interviews including an interview with the program director, and lunch with the residents. The interview will conclude with a tour of our facilities. We provide one night’s hotel accommodations for your convenience and the hotel shuttle will transport you to and from the institution. Raleigh–Durham Airport is a short drive and if you chose to drive we are located just minutes from Interstate 40 and Interstate 85.

Applications are accepted through December 2018. Available interview slots may fill quickly and interested applicants are advised to submit their applications early.

The UNC Hospitals Pathology Residency Program requires:

  • Applications must be submitted exclusively through ERAS.
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Medical school transcript
  • Personal statement
  • Demonstrated interest in Pathology
  • US citizen or permanent resident
  • Valid ECFMG certification for international medical graduates
  • Medical school cut-off date of ten years

Note that UNC Hospitals only sponsors J-1 visas.
